How Much Does Furniture Removal Cost in Moncton?

Removing a single piece of furniture in Moncton usually costs $75 to $125 in 2026, plus 15% HST. A sofa, a dresser and a mattress together fall around $175 to $275. Stairs, tight doors and heavy items like pianos raise the price.

Furniture is bulky more than it's heavy, which is why it never fits in a car. We take it apart if we have to, carry it out and load it, so you don't strain a back or scrape a wall. We've carried about 400 sofas and sectionals down stairs since 2022, and we'd rather take a couch apart than scratch a doorframe. Our crews send 2 people to a couch.

When to Call a Crew for Furniture

A bit of help goes a long way with these:

  • A sectional that won't fit through the basement door
  • A sleeper sofa or recliner on a second floor
  • A mattress and box spring set with no way to haul it

One piece of furniture usually takes fifteen to thirty minutes to carry out and load.

How We Remove Furniture

Couches and Sectionals

Sectionals come apart into pieces, and we take them apart if they're heavy. Sleeper sofas weigh more than they look because of the metal frame. We load them whole when we can and in sections when we can't.

Dressers, Tables and Bed Frames

Solid wood dressers can weigh over 100 pounds with drawers in. We pull the drawers, carry the frame separately and take apart bed frames that are held with bolts. Good pieces can go to donation.

Mattress Disposal in Moncton

Mattresses don't belong in the landfill. Eco360 runs a recycling program where about 95 percent of a mattress is recycled, and a typical one is 48 percent metal. We drop mattresses, box springs and futons there, so they get a second life.

Furniture Questions

Can the City Pick Up My Couch?

Yes, within its five-item bulk pickup, booked by phone before Friday at 5 pm. Mattresses and bed springs are on the City's list too, but pickup follows a five-week rotation, so we're the answer when you can't wait.

You've Got Questions

Furniture and Mattress Removal FAQs

Where do old mattresses go after you take them?

We take them to the mattress recycling program at Eco360 in Berry Mills. The foam is cut out, the metal springs are pulled and sold, and the rest is shredded and sorted. About 95 percent of a mattress can be recycled instead of buried.

Can I donate my couch instead?

Often, yes, if it's clean, undamaged and smoke-free. Tell us when you book and we'll set it aside for donation. Charities decide what they accept, so we can't promise every piece will be taken, but we do check before it goes to the landfill.

Will you take apart a sectional?

Yes. Most sectionals come apart into two or three pieces, and we handle that on site. If it's bolted or glued, we use tools to take it apart without damaging your doorframes. Tell us if the sectional is in a basement.

Do you take bed frames and headboards?

Yes. We take down metal and wooden frames, headboards, slats and box springs. Bring any loose bolts together so they don't get lost, but we also bring tools. Wood frames in good shape are good candidates for donation.

How much notice do you need for furniture removal?

Often a few days, and sometimes less. Short notice is fine, so call or text and ask about the next opening. If you have a move-out date or a delivery coming for a new couch, tell us the deadline when you book.
